Are You New To Adsense? Need To Know More About Adsense?

Well the basic thing is first that you have to have a website or blog that is already on the Internet. If you don't have one already then you can get a free blog at blogger.com - blogger.com encourages you to add adsense to your blog so having adsense won't be a problem with blogger.com

You have to apply to adsense and your website or blog has to be approved by them first.

After you get approved then you can go through the steps to choose the size and color of your ads. You get the codes for the ads, copy and paste them to your site and when a visitor to your site clicks on the ads then you will get paid.
How much you get paid depends on the content of your site and which keywords the adsense spiders get when they crawl your site. There are ads that pays as little as $1 (some even less) and I have seen (and had on my site/blogs) rates of $1000! It's really hard to pinpoint just what will bring your site higher-paying keywords.

But the thing of it is is that most people advise that your site or blog serve a specific niche or theme or subject matter.

In order to get a payment from adsense you have to have earned at least $100. Since this is August 1st, I checked my earnings for the month and I made it! Which means that I at least earned the minimum of $100 in July 2007. The actual payment shouldn't be expected until around the 25th of the month (which just happens to be the weekend during August 2007 - so it may be later or it may be earlier). You can either get paid by regular check or by bank transfer.

So if you're really talking about earning enough adsense money to support your family you are going to have to first determine how much minimum per month you could support your family with.

Simply put the best way to make more money with adsense is to either increase the traffic that is coming to your site (so potentially more visitors will click on the ads) or you incorporate the higher-paying keywords into your site so that you will earn more per click.

While I have seen some say that they have made as much as $1000 per month, I'm thinking an average of maybe $500 a month is more acceptable. Mind you I say average!

Question - How Much Will I Have To Pay To Join Adsense?

How Much Will I Have To Pay To Join The Adsense Program?

In a word you don't have to pay anything to join adsense. If you did then they must have let me slide when I joined.

The only real thing that you need to join Google's adsense program is a website or blog. Of course that website or blog has to be approved by adsense first. They don't accept sites of an adult nature, gambling or otherwise illegal sites.

But when your site is approved then you will be able to go through the process of picking your adsense ads to put on your site.

Question - What Kinds Of Sites Are Accepted By Adsense?

You can click the link above to go to Adsense's very own help site. There you can read Adsense's official policy towards the kinds of sites that they will and will not accept for their adsense program.

I do know that adsense doesn't accept gambling, illegal and adult sites. Although some people have said that they have seen adsense ads on adult sites I wouldn't risk it! And neither should you!

Don't Try To Trick The Adsense People!

Adsense has rules as to how many adsense ads you can have per page. You can have 3 text link ad blocks, 3 links blocks and 2 refferals.

If you try to put more than this on your page you will only get the number of ad blocks allowed per page. I don't know what kind of software or coding Adsense uses but it is very astute and it will know if you place more ads than is allowed per page.

One very good example that has been brought up a lot is the fact that a lot of people would like to put their Adsense ads between the posts in their blog. Well since you are allowed only so many Adsense ad blocks no matter how many times you put the coding in you will still only get those number of ad blocks that are allowed.

I know that its very tempting once you start to get a taste of that Adsense money coming in to do things to increase your revenue but you don't want to run the risk of being banned from Adsense and being banned from using the Adsense program!

You Have Until The 15th of Each Month.....

You have until the 15th of each month (generally speaking) to let Adsense know of any changes that you want to make on your Google Adsense account. This includes changing the way you get paid and/or any address changes that have to be made. If you don't notify them of these changes before the 15th of each month (generally speaking) then it could take another 30 days before you receive your payment for the past month.

Now I say "generally speaking" because on Adsense's payment information page are some diagrams showing how and when the payments are processed. Your month's total earnings are processed the first week of the next month. Once they are tabulated then your account is checked to see if there are any "holds" on your Adsense account. If not then your account is cleared for the payment process to begin. Usually speaking the payment arrives somewhere around the 24th of the month. Now since this month the 24th falls on a Sunday that means the payment could be earlier (which is what I'm hoping)

or your payment could be later (which is what I'm not hoping)

When Adsense Pays...

I know those that are new to Adsense want to know when they get paid. Here is the answer. Adsense gathers up all the data containing the information about all the "clicks" that your account has received. Since they do this monthly don't expect a check or bank transfer on the first of the next month! For example today is June 9th which means that the month of May's total clicks are over. I reached the minimum balance last month so I will be receiving a payment for the month of May but I won't be expecting that payment until somewhere around the 24th of this month!

Why does it take so long? Well to be quite honest I wondered that very same thing at the beginning only because I was sooooooo anxious to get that adsense payment. I'm assuming that it takes that amount of time because for one thing there are so many people (and businesses) using Adsense so that means that they have a lot of accounts to calculate and for all of the accounts that Adsense does have I'm impressed with the fact that they can make payments within 30 days (sometimes less).

So you will have to be patient in order to get that Adsense payment?

Top 5 Adsense Boo-Boos

I found a very interesting article about the "Top 5 Adsense Boo-Boos"

Some of them seem so obvious but maybe that is just me!

If you don't know it by now Adsense treats clicking your own ads as a no-no and they will cancel your account if they deem that you are getting invalid clicks - so you want to avoid that at ANY cost!

But I suggest that you read the article because it can go a long way in your keeping a good standing with Adsense (and your Adsense account).

How Much Does It Cost To Join Adsense?

How Much Does It Cost To Join Adsense?

The answer to that is it doesn't cost anything to join the adsense program.

But before you can join the adsense program you will have to apply.

Once you apply your website or blog has to be reviewed by Adsnese and then it has to be approved. But once adsense has given their approval then you can start to go through the process of adding the adsense ads to your site.

Just What Is Adsense?

The more I see the name "Adsense" I realize that it could be interpreted as "ad sense" meaning putting "sensible" ads on one's site.

It's very simple (and sometimes not so) really. You put ads on your site be it a website or a blog. First you have to apply and join adsense but that part is free. You have to submit the url of your site and adsense has to review and approve it. Once your site is approved then you can go through the process of picking the size and color of the ads that you want to appear on your site. You can't pick the specific/exact ads that appear on your site but you can filter some of them. The ads that appear on your site will depend upon the content of your site.

For instance I'm having a problem with the adsense ads not showing up on my blog but they are still appearing on my website

Everytime a visitor to your site clicks on the ads you get paid. Of course there are some ads where you get paid when the ad appears on your site and the visitor to your site sees the ad(s) but you can't pick when that option appears.

Now you don't actually get paid until your earnings reach $100 during the month. If your earnings don't reach $100 during the month then your earnings will be rolled over into the next month until your total reaches $100. Once you reach that $100 you can either get paid via regular check or by bank transfer.

I have to say this as a caveat though because it is happening to me right now.

You have to be careful and not violate Adsense's terms of service and you have to be careful about invalid clicks. I don't know what the issue is with there being no adsense ads on my blog right now but I have contacted Adsense via email and I'm supposed to get an answer within 24 - 48 hours.
