What is search engine optimization? It simply means optimizing one's site for the search engines. Optimizing your site for the search engines means that more people will find your site when they type in certain search word terms or phrases.

Search engine optimization is important for one's site if they want to get as much traffic / visitors as possible!

If you do a little checking around online you will see numerous tips and tricks for search engine optimization. However as one that offers search engine optimization services my very best tactic (and one that has worked well for me so far) is to analyze the sites that appear above my own site and working on ways to out-optimize them.

There is a very high demand for search engine optimization services because it seems that a lot of people want high (or higher) search engine rankings! After all the higher your site is ranked, the more potential visitors one will get to their site.

This is especially important for those that have sites with Google Adsense ads on them because the more people that visit their site the more potential clicks they will get on their Google Adsense ads and the more money that they will make!

Another reason for search engine optimization is that the more visitors that you have to your site the more you can charge in advertising fees because the more popular your site is the higher you can charge for advertising!

"I Created My Blog. Now What?"

Okay. You created your blog now you are ready for the whole world to see it! The only problem is that you don't know how to get the whole world to see it!

Of course one of the first things that you should do (and it should be one of the easiest things to do) is to TELL EVERYBODY YOU KNOW ABOUT YOUR BLOG! Sounds simple doesn't it?

Take for instance if you have a professional blog like one of my clients, The Computer Brother. If your blog is going to be a professional blog then one of the things you should do is to include your blog's address on all of your professional paperwork - including your business cards. Remember the point of this is to promote your blog.

Another thing that you should do is to optimize your blog for the search engines. I read somewhere that 50% of a blog's traffic comes from the search engines. So when people are looking for relevent content you will want your blog (or site) to show up as high as possible on the search engine results.

I have made a few postings here about how a link to my blog is currently on page one of Google's search engine results when certain search terms are typed into the search engines. So far I have managed to accomplish this by working with the content of my blog. While a lot of the search engines have links to where you can add your blog or site manually, that's something that I haven't done yet. But that's not to say that you shouldn't do it - by all means manually add your site to the search engines. However you should know that this won't result in your site showing up right away. Some search engines can take a few months before they get to your site to manually add it.

Another thing that you should know that besides my blog site showing up on page 1 of google's search engine results, I have noticed that a lot of "indirect" links to my sites show up as well. One of my feeds shows up in the search engines as well as a few comments and replies that I have posted elsewhere on the internet have shown up too.

So tell everyone you know about your new site and watch as the traffic grows!

PS - Don't forget to add a counter to your site so that you can track your site's traffic. There are a lot of free ones available on the Internet.

The Computer Dude Is On Page One Of Google's Search Engine Results!

Since The Computer Dude is one of my clients, I checked where some of his traffic is coming from today.

Someone did a search for "computer dude" and my client's blog address came up on the first page of Google's search results! That's good for him and good for me because it lets me know that I am doing a good job as far as the client is concerned as far as optimizing his blog for the search engines!

I read somewhere that 50% of a site's traffic comes from the search engines so optimizing your website or blog for the search engines is a DEFINITE MUST if you want to optimize your site to earn as much as you can from adsense.

What is search engine optimization? It means that you are optimizing your website (or blog) so that your site's url shows up on the first few pages that the search engines list. Of course the ultimate that you would want to achieve would be that your site shows up on page one of the search engine results. But you have to realize that the internet is constantly changing. New websites (or blogs) are being put up on the internet every day!

So how do you increase your site's rankings. And a lot of people would like to know how you can do this kind of thing for free!

The first thing you should is to let everyone you know know about your site (or blog). Tell them, send them an email and make business cards with your site's url on them! Heck why don't you make a flyer to announce your new website (or blog!

Now my blog has a pretty good counter/visitor number (which reminds me that you should also include a counter on your site - that way you can monitor how much traffic you are getting. If you get the right stats tracker you can also see where your site's visitors are coming from).

Any and all advertising that I have done has been free!

Since my blog is about being an Adsense Consultant then my target market is those people that are new to Adsense and need help with it. And that is to whom I market and advertise to. I let my counter number speak for itself as to how successful I have have been so far.

Another piece of advice for optimizing your site for the search engines is that a lot will depend on what your site is about.

You have to ddfine who your target market is - who is most likely to be interested in your site - your answer to that would be your target market and those are the people that you will have to go after.

Another thing that I forgot to mention about optimizing your site is that a lot of visitor traffic comes via the search engines. So you want your site to show up on the search engines as high as possible. Let's take my blog for example. Even though my blog is a few months old I am already on page 2 of search engine results for the key phrase "adsense consultant" - which I think is very good for a blog that is about 4 months old! How did I do it? A lot of it has to do with the wording and content of my blog. A lot of times I have been quite lucky (remember the Internet is always changing with adding new sites all the time!) and a lot of times it is the result of the work that I put into the blog.

While getting to be on page 2 of the search engine results is a good achievement of course I am working on getting my blog to page 1!

Getting More Traffic To Your Site (or blog)

"How do I get more traffic to my site?" is an often asked question. First you should understand that you not only want more traffic to your site but you want the RIGHT kind of traffic to your site. If we're talking strictly getting more clicks on your site then you have to get more visitors who are interested in your site and what your site has to offer them. To put it more simply you have to define your target market. Your target market is the group of people that your site would most benefit.

Let's take my blog for example. My target market (or at least one of them anyway) are people that are new to adsense and want to know more about it. I want to educate them more about adsense and hopefully drum up some business for myself. As you can see from my counter that is at the bottom of this blog my traffic numbers are good and growing! I do no paid advertising and I work at getting more visitors to my site.

That is the same thing that you will have to do if you want to increase the number of visitors to your site who will (hopefully) click on the adsense ads.

Once people get a taste of earning that adsense money they start to do more and more to increase the number of visitors to their site. There are a lot of free things that you can do to increase the number of visitors to your site. In fact there are a lot of sites out there that have a lot of helpful tips for doing just that!

Getting more traffic to your site will require some effort on your part but just think of those added adsense rewards!

How Do I Increase My Website Traffic?

The best way to increase traffic to your website or blog is to let as many people know about your website or blog as possible - that is a good and very basic way to increase traffic to your site.

However to get increased CLICKS on your site you should let as many relevent people know about your site! - What does that mean? It means that you should define the target market of your site. For instance the target market of my blog is those that are new to Adsense and those that want to know more about Adsense. As you can see from my counter below I have managed to get a good number of visitors so far. And so far I have done this without spending any "marketing" money.

You have to realize that there are a lot of free marketing things you can do to increase the number of visitors to your site.

So to increase the number of visitors (and the number of clicks) to your site define your target market first and then go after them!
